In an effort to help professionals in various industries gain the business skills they will need to boost their careers, several campus-based and online colleges are beginning to include managerial skills in many degree programs.
For example, a Florida-based school for aerospace professionals recently announced it would begin offering masters programs in business that are designed to benefit scientists and engineers, Florida Today reports.
Degree seekers at the school will now have the opportunity to study business administration, project management, logistics management and acquisition as well as contract management on the graduate level. In turn, these students will be able to gain the business skills they will need to compete in today's competitive job market.
Furthermore, specialists who earn business degrees may be able to apply their expertise in new, lucrative careers, such as consulting.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need for managerial, technical and scientific consultants is expected to increase by more than 80 percent over the next eight years. In addition, this industry is one of the highest-paying fields in the country.
